About Me

- Serendipity: An unsought, unintended, and/or unexpected, but fortunate, discovery   

Serendipity brings me so much joy - from spotting a fawn in my Midwestern backyard, to unexpectedly running into an old friend, to discovering a whimsical doorknocker while wandering the mosaic streets of Lisbon. 

One day, my daughter came home from school, walked into my office, and said to me, "Mom, every day is kind of the same."  Yikes, I realized, she was right! Our days had become so crazy scheduled and predictable - and with that, the chance for serendipity, a once-in-a-blue-moon occurrence. 

So, when in 2022, my dream of having a place of our own tucked in the woods along the Lake Michigan shore came true, we began to explore the surrounding area - and each day, we'd return home, excited about what we had discovered, and wanting to share it with each other and our friends. I realized I didn't have to wait for my next trip to an off-the-beaten path destination to experience serendipity - though traveling to faraway places is a love of mine, too.

And with that, this community was born!
